On our little jaunt around Route 66 we happened upon a crazy town in Arizona called Selignan. At the end of this crazy town was an even crazier diner. The Roadkill Cafe. It was replete with hub caps, stuffed animals, and other roadkill paraphernalia. The only thing it didn't have was a roadkill teddy. Twitch felt right at home.

I have just set off on Route 66 with my travelling companion Twitch the Raccoon. Over the next few days and weeks I will be bringing you news of Twitch's journey and pictures of him in inaction on the tarmac. Twitch will be swapping stories with roadkill armadilloes and squirrels. Watch this space.

It's nearly election time. And there's only one party that will fight for the rights of squished voles and badgers up and down the country. We're campaigning for more pedestrian crossings for rabbits, an outright ban on Robin Reliants, better pensions for widowed squirrels, and high visibility jackets for every weasel in the land. Easter is a time of renewal. When life in all its beauty springs anew. When flora and fauna in all its wondrous guises does burgeon and blossom... and then blunder into the road and get obliterated by a passing truck. But lo, Twitch, Grind, Splodge and Pop have risen from their tarmacky graves to give sense to the Easter story. Let us go forth and buy a Roadkill Toy to pay homage to this unique time of year.
